High School Football Standings – Week 3

LOGANTON – The District IV High School Football standings are providing an interesting picture for some of our area teams.

In Division I, Danville and Selinsgrove both are tied with a 2-0 overall record and 1-0 in conference play. Shikellamy and Shamokin are tied for third place with a 1-1 record overall and with just one loss on the conference slate. Mifflinburg and Jersey Shore round out the pack with 0-2 records overall; but, Jersey Shore only has one loss against conference foes; while, Mifflinburg has two conference losses.

In Division II, Central Columbia (2-0/2-0) is just slightly ahead of the Mount Carmel Red Tornadoes (2-0/1-0) in the supremacy race for the area’s top football team.

Two of the division schools that has a new football coach at the helm, Lewisburg and Loyalsock are tied for third, with a 1-1 record.

Then, the remaining two members of the division, Montoursville and Hughesville; who have 2nd year coaches in charge, round out the field. Montoursville (1-1) who has outscored their opponents 51-34, is just ahead of Hughesville (0-2), who moved up from the ranks of Division III from last year.

Meanwhile in Division III, Scott McLean’s Muncy Indians sit atop of  the standings with a 2-0 record both overall and in the conference. The perennial favorite, Southern Columbia is back in 2nd place with a 2-0 / 1-0 record.

With the loss of Quarterback  Blake Rankin at Bloomsburg, the Panthers (1-1/0-1) are situated in the middle of the pack. Montgomery and Warrior Run round out the remaining teams with 0-2 records.
