ERIE, PA – Gannon head football coach Brad Rzyczycki has announced the first wave of his 2016 recruiting class that currently includes 12 incoming student-athletes. All 12 committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at Gannon during the fall of 2016 Wednesday morning. Eleven signed National Letters of Intent while one incoming student-athlete was a transfer.The latest recruiting class helps offset the graduation of 18 seniors. In all, 38 letterwinners and 13 student-athletes who started at least four games last season return in 2016. The program will feature 11 seniors during the upcoming season.
“We are extremely excited about this first group of recruits,” said Rzyczycki. “Our staff was able to find the student-athletes who can play at the next level and contribute on and off the field at Gannon. The first wave is balanced with seven offensive players and five on the defensive side of the ball. We are pleased with today’s signings and can’t wait to welcome the new members of our family to campus.” Gannon concluded its third consecutive winning season and 13th in program history with a 6-5 overall record in 2015. It represents the program’s longest streak of winning seasons since having a school-record four straight from 1992-95. The first wave of the 2016 recruiting class can be found below.
