LOCK HAVEN, PA – For the second time this season Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) of the Lock Haven University volleyball team has been named the PSAC East Athlete of the week.
The senior outside hitter had a solid weekend, as she led The Haven to a 3-1 record in PSAC crossover action at Clarion and Slippery Rock.
Xuan started the weekend off with 19 kills and 14 digs in a thrilling 3-2 loss in five-sets to host Clarion.
In a rematch of last year’s PSAC Championship, Xuan tallied 17 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 win over the Cal (Pa.)
On Saturday, Xuan went on to lead The Haven to a 3-1 win over Slippery Rock and a 3-0 sweep of IUP.
For the weekend, Xuan recorded 60 kills, 45 digs and a .309 hitting percentage.
