JAMESTOWN, NY – The up-charging Southern Tier Xpress hockey team is looking to continue its climb in the standings of the North American 3 Hockey League.
Since their initial loss to Lacrosse, at the Showcase Classic in Blaine, Minnesota; the Xpress has went on a six game winning streak. The Rylan Galiardi led team has scored 36 goals in those six games; meanwhile, only giving up 10 goals. A lot of that low scoring is due to the outstanding play of goalie Cody Gibson.
Gibson was named East Division Player of the Week during that span. Deservedly so.
The Xpress has been able to tweak the roster to capitalize on its collective chemistry. Galiardi is hoping to only make one more such tweak before the regular season nears completion and the playoffs begin. So, players are on the alert that their play is being judged at every moment and looking for the weak links to eliminate before the playoffs arrive.
The Xpress hit the road on January 3rd for a matchup in Cleveland, before returning home on the 4th for their first home game in over a month.
