LORETTO, PA – Saint Francis U head coach Rob Krimmel has announced that Patrick Wrencher (West Chester, Ohio/Archbishop Moeller) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Red Flash basketball team for the 2013-14 season.
Wrencher, who is 6-6 and 250 pounds, averaged 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds for nationally-renowned Cincinnati Moeller last season. He played in 23 games, including two starts, as a center/forward last season for coach Carl Kremer’s squad.
The Crusaders finished 22-3 a season ago before falling in the Ohio Division I regional final to rival, Cincinnati La Salle. Moeller has won at least 20 games in eight of the past nine seasons.
“We are excited to have Patrick join our basketball family,” said Krimmel. “He will be a great addition both on and off the court. Patrick comes from a great program with a great coach. His winning attitude, and desire to improve everyday will make him very valuable to our team when he sets foot on campus next year.”
SFU alumni Chris Temming and John Hilvert are the two most recent Moeller grads to play for Saint Francis. His sister is a freshman on the women’s basketball team at Butler University. In addition to his high school career, Wrencher played for the Columbus Mustang Ballers AAU program this past summer.
