LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Lock Haven University swim team closed out a strong three days of competition today with a number of sensational individual efforts today, at the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational, hosted by Indiana University of PA.
Senior Brittany Rehrig (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) was once again a big part of the story as she closed out a strong three days in the pool with a win in the 100-yard freestyle. She won in a PSAC qualifying time of 52.82.
The 52.82 was a lifetime best for Rehrig.
Allie Muha (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) and Kristin Taylor (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) highlighted tonight’s finals with a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
Muha and Taylor, who were seeded 1-2 heading into the finals, hit PSAC marks of 2:14.56 and 2:15.70, respectively.
The Lady Eagles finished third in the 400-freestyle relay.
LHU was fourth overall in the team standings after three days of swimming.
Newly appointed LHU head coach Joel Blesh couldn’t have been more pleased with the team’s effort over the three days.
“I’m so proud of the way the women came out and stepped up for all six sessions of this meet,” said Blesh. “We stuck together and showed our mental toughness.”
