Two BIG Tournaments To Kickoff High School Wrestling Season on Friday
BLOOMSBURG, PA – Bloomsburg will be the site for the annual DKI Tournament for high school wrestling in the region. Bloomsburg, Canton, Cape Henlopen (DE), Hanover (D2), Mahanoy, Mt. Carmel, Pine Grove, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, Scranton Prep, Shamokin, Sugar Valley Rural Charter, Sullivan County, Tamaqua, Warrior Run, and Williams Valley are slated to participate. Central Columbia won the team title last year with 243.5 points, followed by Troy (188), Cape Henlopen, Del. (179), Pottsville (126.5) and Canton (121.5). Mount Carmel (106) finished sixth. LOCK HAVEN, PA – Senior Skyler Wool (Waterville, Pa./Jersey Shore) of the Lock Haven University football team has a been nominated for the 2012 Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award. Wool, a 2012 PSAC First Team selection was also nominated for this award last year as well. This year, he was nominated among 18 other Super Region I nominees.
