LHU Field Hockey Sweeps Atlantic 10 Awards

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Junior Kelly Harsh (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) and freshman Stephanie Ebersole (Elizabethtown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) of the Lock Haven University field hockey team swept the weekly Atlantic 10 field hockey awards.

Harsh was named A-10 Player of the Week, while Ebersole earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Both players were a huge reason behind The Haven’s 2-0 week that included a 3-2 OT win over Robert Morris (9/8) and a dominating 4-2 victory at Kent State (9/9).

Harsh and Ebersole combined for 10 points in the two games as each player scored two goals and added one assist.

Harsh came up big in the Lady Eagles 3-2 overtime win vs. Robert Morris. Just 4:42 into the extra frame, she drilled home a penalty corner shot, giving LHU the victory. In yesterday’s win over Kent State, Harsh added a goal and an assist.

Ebersole tallied a goal in both wins and added an assist yesterday against Kent State. With less than four minutes to play in the game against RMU, Ebersole scored, sending the match into overtime.

Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, September 12 at 6 p.m. when they travel to local-rival and ninth-ranked Penn State.
