WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 20, 2012) – After improving its team score for the second consecutive day, the Saint Francis University women’s golf team concluded the C&F Bank Invitational in 18th place in the 21-team field.
SFU carded a three-day team score of 1,034 (356-344-334) to finish ahead of Mount St. Mary’s, Towson and Quinnipiac. Longwood captured the team title with a total score of 912 (300-303-309). St. John’s, St. Leo, Toledo and Penn round out the list of top-five finishers.
Kameron Carter of Longwood and her 221 (71-74-76) earned her top individual honors in the field of 106. Ann Colligan ranked as the top finisher for the Red Flash, coming in a tie for 61st place by carding a three-day 248 (83-83-82). Mallory Cortis was SFU’s highest finishing rookie and lowest scorer on day three, placing in a tie for 72nd with a total score of 253 (90-86-77).
Both Samantha Smyers (92-86-90) and Paige Wojdyla (91-89-88) tied for 91st with a three-round 268. With a solo hold on the 97th spot, Erica DeVal finishes the tournament with a 276 (92-97-87).
Saint Francis will be back on the course March 26-27 when they travel to Midlothian, Va. for a tournament hosted at the Independence Golf Club.
