WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The city of Williamsport hosted the first ever outdoor hockey all-star game in North America and there was a show put on by the players of the Federal Hockey League All Stars and the Williamsport Outlaws.
Danbury Whalers forward Tyler Noseworthy of the FHL All Stars would skate away with the All Star Game MVP honors in an 18-13 win over the Outlaws in front of almost 1,500 fans at Airmen Pond at Historic Bowman Field.
In a game in which there was a combined 31 goals scored, every member of the FHL All Star team found the score sheet with at least one point, including both goaltenders, Mike Brown of the Danbury Whalers and Jeff Rose of the Dayton Demonz, who both recorded assists in the combined win.
The Outlaws lead the All Stars 3-2 after the first period, but the All Stars would retake the lead in after two periods of play after outscoring the Outlaws 9-4 in the second period to lead the Outlaws 11-7 heading into the final period. The All Stars would post 7 more goals in the third period, while the Outlaws posted 6 goals of their own to end with a final score of 18-13.
Tyler Noseworthy would lead all players with 6 points on the night, tallying 4 goals and 2 assists. Brian Yanovitch lead the Williamsport Outlaws in scoring with 3 goals and 1 assist totaling 4 points.
Mike DiLorenzo played the entire time between the pipes for the Outlaws facing 66 shots against the FHL All Stars. The Outlaws sent 43 shots on the tandem of Brown and Rose.
