LOCK HAVEN, PA – Senior Skyler Wool (Waterville, Pa./Jersey Shore) of the Lock Haven University football team has a been nominated for the 2012 Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award.
Wool, a 2012 PSAC First Team selection was also nominated for this award last year as well.
This year, he was nominated among 18 other Super Region I nominees.
Wool started all 11 games at defensive tackle for the Bald Eagles. He had 40 total tackles on the year, which tied for seventh-best on the team. Wool made 20 solo stops, eight tackles-for-a-loss, and had four sacks.
His four sacks were a team-high. He had six tackles vs. Mercyhurst and Cheyney.
The Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award is presented by the Manheim Touchdown Club and selected by the Division II Sports Information Directors.
A winner of from each of the four DII football regions (Super Region 1, Super Region 2, Super Region 3 & Super Region 4 will move onto the national ballot.
